Primobolan is the injectable version of the steroid methenolone. It is the same compound as the one in Primobolan Orals (methenolone acetate), both produced by Schering. In this injectable version, an enanthate ester is added to the steroid, which makes for a slow and gradual release from the site of injection. Its length of activity would thus be quite similar to Testosterone enanthate, with blood levels remaining elevated for approximately two weeks. Methenolone itself is a long acting anabolic, with extremely low androgenic properties. It’s anabolic effect is also quite mild, its potency is considered to be slightly less than DecaDurabolin (nandrolone decanoate) on a milligram for milligram basis. For this reason, Primobolan is most commonly used during cutting cycles when a mass increase is not the main goal. Some athletes do prefer to combine a mild anabolic like “Primo” with bulking drugs such as Dianabol, Anadrol, or testosterone however, presumably to lower the overall androgen dosage and minimize uncomfortable side effects. When choosing between Primobolan versions, the injectable is preferred over the oral, as it is much more cost effective.

Since Primobolan does not convert to estrogen, it displays many favorable characteristics. Estrogen related side effects should therefore not be seen at all when using this steroid. Sensitive individuals need not worry about developing gynecomastia, nor should they be noticing any water retention with this drug. The gains seen with Primobolan will be only quality muscle mass, and not the smooth bloat which accompanies most steroids open to aromatization. During a cycle the user should additionally not have much trouble with blood pressure values, as this effect is also related (generally) to estrogen and water retention. At a moderate dosage of 100-200mg weekly, Primobolan should also not interfere with endogenous testosterone levels as much as when taking an injectable nandrolone or testosterone. At higher dosages strong testosterone suppression will be noticed, as all steroids can act to suppress testosterone production at a given dosage. Here of course a proper post cycle therapy is a must.

Side effects in general are usually not much of a problem with Primobolan Depot. There is a chance one will notice a few residual androgenic effects such as oily skin, acne, increased facial/body hair growth or an aggravation of male pattern baldness condition. This steroid is still very mild however, and such problems are typically dose related. Women will in fact find this preparation mild enough to use in most cases, observing it to be a very comfortable and effective anabolic. If both the oral and injectable were available for purchase, the faster acting oral should probably be given preference however. This is simply due to the fact that blood hormone levels are more difficult to control with a slow acting injectable, the user also having to wait many days for steroid levels to diminish if side effects become noticeable. Overall, Primobolan Depot is actually considered to be one of the safest anabolic steroids available. Steroid novices, older athletes or those sensitive to side effects would undoubtedly find it a very favorable drug to use. The typical “safe” dosage for men is 100-200mg per week, a level that should produce at least some noticeable muscle growth. In European medicine it is not uncommon for Primobolan to be used safely at such a dosage for extended periods of time. Among athletes, men may respond to weekly doses of 200mg but regular users will often inject much higher doses looking for a stronger anabolic effect. It is not uncommon for a bodybuilder to take as much as 600 or 800mg per week, a range which appears to be actually quite productive. Of course androgenic side effects may become more pronounced with such an amount, but in most instances it should still be quite tolerable.

In addition, it is most popular for male bodybuilders to stack Primobolan with other steroids in order to obtain a faster and more enhanced effect. During a dieting or cutting phase, a non-aromatizing androgen like Halotestin or trenbolone can be added. The strong androgenic component should help to bring about an added density and hardness to the muscles. On the other hand (or in addition) we could add Winstrol, another mild anabolic steroid. The result of this combination should again be a notable increase of muscle mass and hardness, but in this case the gain should not be accompanied by greatly increased side effects. As mentioned earlier, Primobolan Depot is also used effectively during bulking phases of training. The addition of testosterone, Dianabol or Anadrol would prove quite effective for adding new muscle mass. Of course we would have to deal with estrogenic side effects, but in such cases Primobolan should allow the user to take a much lower dosage of the more “toxic” drug and still receive acceptable results.

Women respond well to a dosage of 50-100mg per week, although (as stated above) the oral should usually be given preference. Additionally, some choose to include Winstrol Depot or Oxandrolone and receive a greatly enhanced anabolic effect. Remember though, androgenic activity can be a concern and should be watched, particularly when more than one anabolic is used at a time. If stacking, it would be best to use a much lower starting dosage for each drug than if they were to be used alone. This is especially good advice if you are unfamiliar with the effect such a combination may have on you. A popular recommendation would also be to first experiment by stacking with oral Primobolan, and later venture into the injectable if this is still necessary.

Background

Testosterone was first synthesized in 1935. Many pharmaceutical forms have been created since. Most major pharmaceutical houses such as Organon and UpJohn, manufacture Testosterone Cypionate, as do many underground labs.

Steroid Action

When this long-acting version of testosterone is injected, it becomes stored in what is known as a depot in the body, and slowly released over a short period of time. Peaking within 1-2 days after injection, the testosterone is then steadily released over the next 12 days and completely tapers out after approximately 3 weeks.

Testosterone is responsible for promoting health and well being through enhanced libido, energy, immunity, increased fat loss, gaining and maintaining lean muscle mass, preventing Osteoporosis (loss of bone density), and possible protection against heart disease. Testosterone is also responsible for normal growth and development of male sex organs and maintenance of secondary sex characteristics. Secondary s ex characteristics are specific traits that separate the two sexes, but are not directly part of the reproductive system, for example: chest and facial hair, a distinguished jaw line, broad shoulders and increased muscle mass. Testosterone binds to the Androgen Receptors (AR), which thus causes accelerated muscle gain, fat loss, and muscle repair and growth. These mechanisms are stimulated by activation of the Androgen Receptors (either directly or as DHT), as well as through a hormonal cascade.

There are many possible side effects associated with the use of Testosterone Cypionate. This product has a high level of aromatization into estrogen and coverts to DHT (dihydrotestosterone) as well. Estrogen is the female sex hormone, and too much of it can cause a high risk of gynecomastia (formation of breast tissue in males), water retention, and other undesirable side effects. DHT can cause male pattern baldness as well as acne.

Also, supplementing Testosterone to your body will result in the shutting down of the body’s natural production of the hormone. The severity of side effects depends mostly on the levels and duration of circulating free testosterone as well as its conversion into other hormones. Testosterone’s anabolic/androgenic effects (as well as side effects) are dependant upon dosage, and the higher the dose the higher the muscle building effect.

Testosterone Cypionate is one of the best mass building anabolics known to man and is a highly recommended as the base of any mass building cycle. An effective dose of this drug for a man is between 200-2000 mg per week. An effective dose for a woman (wanting to become a man) is similar. Other women (i.e. those not wanting to become a man) should avoid this compound.

Technical Data

Overall, the most common effect reported by subjects using Testosterone Cypionate was gains in strength (1). Alterations in size, shape, and appearance of the muscle were reported (2).

The degree of effects typically experienced with Testosterone use depends on dosage. Generally, the higher the dose used, the better the results, yet more potential for side effects due to higher amounts of androgens in the body. (3). Its been suggested strongly through studies, that doses as high as 600 mg per week produce greater results verses those who received lower doses. At the highest dose, (600 mg/week), the best results were achieved. At this dosage, results reported were: fat loss, muscle growth, lowered HDL cholesterol and increased size and strength (4). There was (roughly) a 15% gain in Lean Body Mass achieved through 20 weeks of 600 mg/week of Testosterone therapy.

Testosterone Cypionate is the most commonly prescribed form of testosterone in the United States of America. In fact, it is a bit of a rare find outside of the USA, with most places in the world deferring to the very similar Testosterone Enanthate.

In truth, I’ve used both and find no difference at all between the two. Testosterone Cypionate is identical with regards to results to any long acting testosterone. In the original Underground Steroid Handbook, Dan Duchaine said that users could feel more “kick” from this form over Enanthate, but I honestly haven’t found that to be true personally.

The prime advantage of this product is the fact that Testosterone Cypionate can be injected once per week and it gives some very good gains in strength and size. I would bet that many careers in bodybuilding and athletics were built with the long term use of this drug. I’ve used it at doses of 250-2,000 mg per week, and found that the best gains versus side effects are probably had somewhere below the 750 mg/week mark. Of course this is far below what many competitors in the upper ranks of bodybuilding use, but for the average (recreational) bodybuilder or athlete, the side effects above this dose do not constitute an acceptable trade off for the gains.

Indications

Side effects of Sustanon are, for the same amount of testosterone, identical to other testosterone esters such as testosterone enanthate.

The principal reasons to choose between Sustanon and testosterone enanthate are price and availability. Quality of results in the steroid cycle will not be affected by the decision.

Nolvadex (tamoxifen citrate) is very comparable to Clomid, behaves in the same manner in all tissues, and is a mixed estrogen agonist/antagonist of the same type as Clomid. The two molecules are also very similar in structure. It is not correct that Nolvadex reduces levels of estrogen: rather, it blocks estrogen from estrogen receptors and, in those tissues where it is an antagonist, causes the receptor to do nothing. Nolvadex is not an anabolic steroid but is used to manage side effects from steroids.

The claim that Nolvadex reduces gains should not be taken too seriously. The fact is that any number of bodybuilders have made excellent gains while using Nolvadex. The belief that it reduces gains seems to stem from the fact that the scientific literature reports a slight reduction in IGF-1 (individuals using anabolic steroids were not studied though) from use of Nolvadex. Thus, Dan Duchaine reported that it reduces IGF-1 and therefore reduces gains. However, if this effect exists at all, it must be very minor, due to the excellent gains that many have made, and from the fact that no one has noticed any such thing from Clomid, which has the same activity profile.

However, I would not be surprised if one were to tell a steroid user that Clomid reduced his gains, he would immediately become afraid that Clomid reduced his gains (please note that no one I have ever heard of has noticed this.) Not having been so misled, however, he would not conclude this from his results. But if an authority publishes that such an effect occurs, whether it does or not it can become self-fulfilling by biasing the user.

The fact that Nolvadex will reduce water retention may result in the user agreeing that gains are less, since weight gain is less, thus reinforcing the bias.

Anazole is indicated for treatment of breast cancer in post-menopausal woman with hormone receptor-positive or hormone receptor unknown locally advanced or metastatic breast cancer. br>

Arimidex (anastrozole) is the aromatase inhibitor of choice. The drug is appropriately used when using substantial amounts of aromatizing steroids, or when one is prone to gynecomastia and using moderate amounts of such steroids. Arimidex does not have the side effects of aminoglutethimide (Cytadren) and can achieve a high degree of estrogen blockade, much moreso than Cytadren. It is possible to reduce estrogen too much with Arimidex, and for this reason blood tests, or less preferably salivary tests, should be taken after the first week of use to determine if the dosing is correct.

As an aromatase inhibitor, Arimidex’s mechanism of action — blocking conversion of aromatizable steroids to estrogen — is in contrast to the mechanism of action of anti-estrogens such as clomiphene (Clomid) or tamoxifen (Nolvadex), which block estrogen receptors in some tissues, and activate estrogen receptors in others. During a cycle, if using Arimidex, there is generally no need to use Clomid as well, but (as mentioned in the section on Clomid) there may still be benefits to doing so.

Arimidex at 0.5 mg/day is usually sufficient for moderate dosages of testosterone and in some cases may be too much.
